25 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one time class, learners will enjoy a slideshow presentation as we have a lecture/discussion based class. No prior knowledge is needed. Learners will be encouraged to ask questions and participate. This class is intended to help your child have some knowledge of some techniques others have used to keep positive. In this class, learners will learn some positive affirmation techniques that lead to a "can do" attitude. Learners will learn how to sing their way into a better mood, how to create an affirmation board that shows their achievements, reminding them of positive things they can and did do. In class, we will discuss using sticky notes, or using washable markers to add notes to a mirror, where they can see themselves alongside their accomplishments and how they can achieve things. We will discuss affirmation boards and also the option to build an "I can" treasure box where they can see all the things they did that were positive. These techniques will help your learner feel more positive in their own life. Learners will learn some techniques commonly used to help them understand that being positive is beneficial. This class is not meant to treat or diagnose any mental health issues, yet it is an upbeat, positive and motivating class. Learners will come away from this class with useful information, as well as public speaking skills and more self confidence.
