This class is designed for students to practice introducing themselves in Portuguese. The class will begin with introductions in both English and Portuguese. This will give the teacher an opportunity to assess the starting point for each student. The teacher will then model and translate into English the different descriptions that students can use to introduce themselves. The lesson will include visuals of new vocabulary so students can easily recall the topics that are being discussed. Students will have opportunities to practice their own responses.The final product for this class with be an independent introduction like... Hello, my name is (name). I am (age) years old. I live in (country/city). I like to play with (toy/activity). My favorite food is... The teacher will build in incidental language opportunities by teaching students to give positive comments to each other (i.e. I like that too). The class with conclude with a comprehension game. In this game students will have to recall the personal introductions of their classmates. Students will be encouraged to practice speaking as much as possible in Portuguese.

I am an online teacher with previous experience with my own classroom. For 3 years now I have been teaching from home and loving every moment. I have met children that make me smile and laugh while I teach. I have taught ESL since January 2017. I am now extending to my teaching experience and teaching my first language. I was born in Portugal and now live in Canada. I practiced my Portuguese growing up and earned a certificate in Portuguese as part of my undergraduate studies.
I have a Master's in Applied Disability Studies. I am a certified teacher in Ontario. I completed my undergraduate studies in psychology. My thesis focused on a preadolescent boy and his behavior management.
I have extensive knowledge in speaking and reading Portuguese. I will be sharing that knowledge in my Portuguese classes. I love traveling, being outdoors and cooking.
