Our class is structured to be engaging. No experience with Portuguese is required - we value beginners. This class will cover live practice of GREETING SAYINGS (hello, how are you?), THE ALPHABET, and NUMBERS. We start with an icebreaker and reviewing any questions. My teaching style is a balanced mix of structure and interaction. I use a whiteboard and index cards to show new words in real time. I am enthusiastic about real-world applications of Portuguese. I hope to see you in class! By request, other one-time class topics in the 'Portuguese Basics' series include (but are not limited to): - COLORS - ANIMALS - FOOD - FAMILY

Teacher expertise and credentials
I have formally studied the Portuguese language since middle school and I grew up in a European-Portuguese household. I studied Portuguese and Brazilian Culture at the college level (Pontifícia Universidade Católica of Rio de Janeiro) in Brazil. My hometown in Massachusetts is the city with the highest concentration of Portuguese-speakers in America.
