This is an interactive, social and project-based class. We start all our classes with a face-to-face welcome and introductions. If your learner is uncomfortable with introducing themselves they can shake their head no and we'll skip over them. Next, we will demonstrate techniques for building with paper: using a second camera, our hands will be spotlighted as we demonstrate how to cut and fold paper to make different shapes and how to adhere the shapes together.Once students have learned the...
Students will learn how to make a variety of shapes and forms using paper. Learn to identify geometric shapes. How to fold paper in a variety of ways including accordion folds. Strengthen problem-solving skills.
> Paper: the best paper to use is something that's a bit heavier than printer paper. Card stock, construction paper and posterboard are good choices. In the sample, we used Astro-brite printer paper, which is a bit thicker than white printer paper. >Markers and/or crayons >Scissors >Clear tape >Glue stick Optional: >A piece of aluminum foil. This can be used to make water. > Cotton balls to make clouds or smoke for chimneys. >Washi tape or colored masking tape. >Small craft items like pom-poms, sequins anything your child thinks they want to add. They might need white glue for attaching heavier items.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
