Description
Class Experience
This class is taught in English.
Students will come away with a basic understanding of popular Archetype Theory and Family Constellation Theory and how they appear in the film Encanto. They will understand some of the strengths and limitations of popular psychology. Finally, students will understand that the use of critical thinking makes learning possible in some unexpected places--even movies and social media.
I am an experienced high school Psychology teacher.
I will provide links to all activities completed in class, as well as a link to Google Slides with all of the material that we cover.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
1 hour 20 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
We will refer to information found in The Collected Works of C. G. Jung, Vol. 9, Part 1: The Archetypes and the Collective Unconscious, and 'What is “the unconscious,” and where is it located in the brain? A neuropsychoanalytic perspective' by Mark Solms. We will also refer to the film Encanto throughout this class.
