Class Experience

Learning to love learning while young sets an important foundation to a child's educational experience. And learning while engaged and excited is the best way to learn! The intent of this class is to teach basic kindergarten concepts while instilling the joy of learning to learn!

I am an elementary school teacher and author of over 25 books for children. This class has grown out of interest and fun with my pop it addition class. In this ongoing course students will be exposed to many early learning concepts using their pop it toy as the springboard for the week's activity. Students may move in and out of the class as their schedule allows without missing material. I will upload any worksheets or necessary materials for each week's class to the classroom. Class topics will repeat occasionally, but the numbers we add/subtract, words we spell, sight words we learn, etc. will change. Plus, repetition is important for learning things like basic facts and sight words.

***A printer will be really helpful. I use slides, pop its, worksheets, and easy manipulatives to teach the concepts in a fun, interactive way. One pop it with at least 20 "pops" AND one pop it with the alphabet written in LOWERCASE with a permanent marker are essential. They can be the same pop it, if desired. Sometimes they will need the lettered one for activities.***

*Students should have a basic understanding of letter identification and number identification up to number 10.*
