Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
Did you know one of Americans' favorite pastimes is chewing bubble gum? Where did this sticky, intriguing, fun substance originate? During this one-time class, students will learn the history and science behind bubble gum. Together, we will explore how bubble gum has changed over the years. Students will observe bubble gum production in a factory and learn recipes to make bubble gum at home. We will discuss gum going through the digestive system and why we should never swallow it. Students will review idioms and similes as we use bubble gum to create some sticky figurative language. We will be discovering all about bubble gum with media clips, an interactive slide presentation, and a review game. This bubble gum course is sure to be a blowout with the bubble gum challenges throughout the lesson.
