Class Experience

In this one-time class, we will use multi-sensory activities to help students learn, review, and strengthen their ability to sound out, read, and spell CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words. Studies show that young children learn well through play, and combining the use of two or more senses can help the brain retain information. By combining touch, sight, and sound with activities that are fun and easy, students will practice and review spelling while having a good time. 

Students will need a good working knowledge of the sounds made by the letters of the alphabet, as well as the ability to write the letters independently. **PLEASE CHECK THE MATERIALS LIST**

Students will learn, review, and strengthen their ability to sound out, read, and spell CVC (consonant vowel consonant) words. They will also review and strengthen their knowledge of the letter sounds.

Parental Guidance

Play-doh may contain wheat. If ingested, play-doh can cause an allergic reaction in those sensitive to wheat, gluten, or with Celiac disease.

Supply List

-A pop-it fidget toy with 3 or more bubble spaces
-Clay/play-doh in 3 different colors
-2-3 pieces of paper & pencil/crayons -OR- whiteboard & marker (and something to erase with)

Hello! I'm Alicia Baldwin. I have a Bachelor's in Liberal Studies from Concordia University, Irvine (California). I've been a classroom teacher since 2008, but I've been working with children of all ages since I was 12 years old. I have been teaching online since 2019, and enjoy the opportunity to meet my students where they feel comfortable. I am a stay at home mom to 4 kids, ages 5-15. One of my kiddos has ADHD, and one has intellectual delays, so children who are neuro diverse hold a special place in my heart. Working with young children is my passion, so many of my classes will be geared toward 3-8 year-olds, but I look forward to interacting with older students as well! I'm so excited to partner with you- the parent- in helping your child grow socially, emotionally, and educationally!
