Pop It Multiplication: Practicing Problems With Factors of 6-12 Using Pop Its

In this ongoing class, learners will have the opportunity to practice multiplying problems containing 6-12 factors. This class is designed for learners that already have an understanding of multiplication and just need extra practice.

Class Experience

This class turns the newest fidget toy into an educational tool. In this ongoing class, learners will have the opportunity to practice multiplying the tricky 6-12 factors using a Pop It. 

Learners will have the opportunity to explore number patterns in the products of multiplication problems. Learners will also practice skip counting by 6-12. Learners will learn tricks to help multiply faster! This class will continue to rotate through the numbers with different multiplication problems, so join at any time or stay enrolled for extra practice! 

Thursday class schedule (starts in December) 
Week of November 28- Multiplying by 6
Week of December 5- Multiplying by 7
Week of December 12- No class
Week of December 26- Multiplying by 8
Week of January 2 Multiplying by 9
Week of January 9- No class
Week of January 16- Multiplying by 11
Week of January 23- Multiplying by 12

Required supplies
• A 12x12 Pop It is required for this class. 
• Provided worksheet (1 per class is required). Placing the worksheet in a plastic bag or sheet protector is encouraged
• Pencil or dry erase marker 
• Dice

Q&A:
1. Is the 12x12 Pop It required? 
   Yes, the instruction is based off a 12x12 square Pop It. Learners may get confused when using a smaller and different shaped Pop It. 
2. Does my learner need to know multiplication? 
  Yes, learners should have an understanding of how multiplication works. This class is designed for multiplication problem practice.
3. How is the class structured? 
  The class will start off with introductions, followed by a quick game. A brief instruction time will be provided. At this time, learners will document multiplication problems on their worksheet. Learners struggling with multiplication can reference this sheet at any time during the class. The last part of the class will include Pop It games using multiplication problems. 
4. What does "ongoing" mean? 
  This class will rotate through the factors 6-12. Learners are automatically enrolled in the following week until the learner subscription is stopped by the parent.

With over 5 years of online teaching experience, I enjoy finding new ways to make virtual learning fun! I offer a variety of educational classes for learners ages 3-12.  In each class, learners will have the opportunity to learn, apply, and expand learning during class. All of my classes are open to learners of all abilities. Outside of work, I am happily married and have two amazing kids (8 and 10) and a crazy dog! 🐾 We are a homeschool family (and enjoy taking advantage of the many classes that Outschool offers).  I enjoy baking, designing on Procreate, crafting, and being outdoors with my family!
