Performance practice FOCUS SKILLS: ACTIVE LISTENING - identify music for its pitch, rhythm, harmonies, and tempo - apply the music elements to help you learn new music MUSIC NOTATION - increase your music reading skills in the treble and bass clef - note identification through visual and aural analysis PIANO PLAYING and ACCOMPANIMENT - movement around the instrument - how is music organized visually and aurally - efficient movement and connection to decision-making of music interpretation - performing melodies and performing accompaniment style REPERTOIRE - build your repertoire learning 3 songs of varied styles and characteristics - bring your own music and learn the songs you are interested in CAPSTONE VIRTUAL RECITAL - share your patterns, your melodies, your skills - prepare a brief program complete with songs, analysis written and spoken commentary

Why is a song stuck in your head? Why do you just want to sing along with the melody? We will identify the elements of music and create a personal playlist of songs. Discover why you love the songs you do and maybe add some new ones to it!

Focusing on the element of pitch, read notes accurately, develop melodies that make sense, and feel confident in your performance.

Steady beat and rhythm creation
Create a steady beat to any song - then find the rhythm. Use you active listening skills to recreate rhythms. Use your counting skills to create your own rhythms. Use you math skills to define beat and rhythm.
