First, we will learn a new sound such as “at”. Using my flip book, students will take turns reading two words with our sound of the day. For example, "rat, splat, cat, hat, mat". They will earn fun rewards after each turn! Learners choose a number to reveal delicious cakes and ice cream rewards but watch out for piles of poop hiding behind some numbers. For an extra reading challenge, there are also sight words hiding behind some numbers. Sight words are usually printed on fun baby dinosaur or space dinosaur themed paper. Learners have the opportunity to share a sentence using our sight word. After practicing about 20 words using our sound of the day, our learners will begin to read full sentences! The sight words and sound of the day will be used in our sentences. Using Google slides, I will screen share one word at a time as we uncover full sentences together. An example of a sentence could be: "at" - "The rat sat on the hat."
