You are a nature sleuth who learns to use your knowledge about animal scat and tracks and other clues to figure out a mystery found in the great outdoors – which is within our museum!
Class experience
You will become a Nature Sleuth and learn how to find and interpret the animal tracks and traces found in your neighborhood. Our learning will take place in the museum’s Poop & Paws: Investigating Clues Animals Leave Behind gallery exhibit. We will investigate two nature scenes that present a mystery – who has been here? The gallery exhibit focuses on learning how to read animal clues in nature by looking at and recognizing tracks, scat, animal homes and listening to sounds. Throughout...
Students will: - be introduced to nature’s clues of scat and tracks - learn observation skills - Learn and then put their knowledge to work - identify a variety of animal clues - ask and answer a lot of questions!
None needed though we will provide a link to our Investigation Notebook and Animal Poop & Track cards upon registration so you can continue the fun after the program!
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
