In this one time class students will use leftover polymer clay to make cute magnets. Often when you are sculpting you can end up with a pile of discarded clay, but you hate to throw it away. This class is an opportunity to use up those mixed and muddied clay piles. In this lesson we will take our pile of discarded polymer clay and and turn it into colorful magnets. Use your discarded polymer clay to make colorful magnets!
Students are encouraged to add a magnet to their clay sculpture after they have been baked.
Polymer Clay - discarded clay (mixed colors) Round pencil or object for rolling Cookie Cutter Magnet Glue
15 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Parents or guardians will need to bake the clay after class so that the sculptures will harden. The package of clay that you purchase will have directions. Most advise 15 minutes per 1/4 inch of clay at 275 degrees.
