Clay Sculpting for Beginners: Small Creatures & Animals Club
What's included
10 live meetings
6 hrs 40 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
Beginner Level
In this live weekly club, we will use clay to sculpt a different adorable animal or creature each class. The lessons are step by step. Students may change up and customize their creations however they see fit. I always encourage creativity beyond the techniques learned. We will learn about the creature of the week, and discuss what options could be added to our final sculptures. Social interaction is welcomed, as long as it does not disrupt the lesson time. I build time in for sharing, chatting, and a possible short game. The use of clay in small designs develops fine motor and problem solving skills. Recommended Supply List: Clay Medium of Choice (I use Polymer Clay that gets baked) Toothpicks **Basic Sculpting tools OR Household items (see list of options below) Cutting tool **If you do not have basic sculpting tools, you can use the end of a fat paintbrush as a rolling pin, a thin paintbrush as a dotting and smoothing tool. **I made a list of my favorite supplies from Amazon that I use during classes: Polymer Clay Dotting Tools and Silicone Clay Sculpting Tools https://amzn.to/4d2FCqW Acrylic Roller, Acrylic Sheet and Cutters https://amzn.to/4cKCq3B If using Polymer clay, parental guidance is required for baking the clay after class. Students may be using a cutting tool. Please go over safety and best practices for using the tool they have prior to class. If time allows, we will have the opportunity to play a game or Zoom Draw.
