Students will practice their drawing and math skills. The theme for this class is polygons! We will learn how to draw polygons. Students will also participate in a short discussion about why some shapes are not polygons, what is a polygon, and the different types of polygons. This class is designed for students who need help with math skills, or those looking to continue practicing. Students should have background knowledge with shapes and polygons. Prior knowledge is helpful, but not...
Learning Objectives Students will be able to: • learn the definition of polygons. • apply their knowledge of shapes to make art. • use art tools and materials safely.
During the school year I teach art to students in both a general classroom and special needs classroom. My school is in the city and serves students in grades K-5. I am trained in all areas of art. I also teach blocks of reading and math to students in a small group setting. The lessons that I am teaching in this class are lessons that I have taught at my school.
Please have multiple sheets of paper, a few pencils (in case they break), and an eraser. Coloring supplies such as crayons, markers, or colored pencils.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
