Beginner - Intermediate Level
We will cover basic writing skills beginning with complete sentences and culminating in solid paragraphs.

We will kick off with a discussion of the weekly topic. We will brainstorm how we might write about that topic. Then writers will begin plying their trade. Writers may share at the end of class, or the beginning of the next class if they wish. 

Week of September 2: Personal Narrative
Week of September 9: Procedural Paragraph
Week of September 16: Informational Paragraph (Article for research supplied)
Week of September 23: Creative Writing ( A small piece of fiction)
Week of September 30: Opinion Paragraph
Learning Goals
Learners will recognize complete sentences and how to create them.
Learners will recognize and use topic sentences, detail sentences, and conclusion sentences in paragraphs.
