Description

Class Experience

Students will examine some modern day political cartoons and use the acronymn SOAPSTone to analyze them. 
Students will receive a handout with the SOAPSTONE acronym.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
Students will be guided through how to analyses the cartoon and search for the meaning of the author. Cartoons about: kids and technology, sports (Tom Brady Super Bowls), Science (pollution), and culture in the United States. 

The purpose of the class is to help students understand the meanings of political cartoons. They will be given an opportunity to write/discuss whether whether they believe the cartoons are true or not with in class discussions.
