Homework
Language is best learned through repetition and practice. It would be wonderful for students to listen to Polish songs and stories outside of class and to practice using the words they learn in class throughout the week. Students may be asked to prepare items for show and tell during our theme section of class.
Assessment
Students will repeat back basic sentences and participate in class discussions.

Class Experience

This class is run like a preschool to help students learn Polish just like they learned English. We will follow routines every class to help students become familiar with key vocabulary. We will also introduce a new theme every week to expose students to new vocabulary and skills. 

Here's what the layout of class will look like:

Calendar:
Me: Today is (day of the week), (month) (date), (year)
        Dziś jest (piątek), (trzeciego) (lutego) (dwa tysiące dwudziestego trzeciego roku)

Story: Stories will go along with our theme for the week.


Theme of the week:
Every week will have a theme. For that week during that section of class, we will talk about our theme, learn vocabulary relating to that theme, and do an activity.

Learning Goals
Students will be introduced to Polish vocabulary and aspects of Polish culture. Students will be able to repeat basic sentences. Students will learn about concepts of time and the weather. Students will practice interacting with peers. Students will practice listening skills.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
We will be listening to songs from Polish YouTube channels for children and reading stories from the collection "Przygody Fenka" about a little fox who is learning about the world around him and how to have good manners. Everything we watch or read in class has been screened by myself for content and age-appropriateness.
