Class Experience
Welcome to Preschool! In this 4 week flexible course your learner will participate in themed activities focusing on key preschool curriculum. Each week will have a new fun January theme! Your preschooler will complete weekly activities using Nearpod and printable materials. The weekly activities will include a variety of early literacy skills, early math skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills, crafts, songs, science, and more! All material is created with preschool curriculum standards in mind. Every Monday you will receive a handout of the weekly lesson plan, printable materials, Nearpod links, and teacher videos. Even though we do not have live sessions you can still expect plenty of interaction! Throughout the week we will communicate through the classroom page. Every week we will do a question of the week. Students will post their work on the classroom page. Your preschooler will get to share something special with the class! I will always respond to messages within 24 hours. If your learner is struggling or needs extra support please let me know and I will work with you! This class is for all abilities and skill levels. Flexible courses are great for busy families and littler learners. You are able to complete the lessons when your preschooler is ready to learn. This is a great option for someone who is shy or can easily be distracted by a live session. WHAT IS NEARPOD? -Nearpod is an interactive platform that allows teacher to create digital interactive lessons. Parents or guardians do not have to create an account for Nearpod and it is free for you to use. You are able to access the lessons with a personal link that I will provide. Weekly Schedule Week One: Polar Bears Week Two: Snowmen Week Three: Hot Chocolate Week Four: Mittens

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello! My name is Jessica—my students call me Ms. Jessica. I've been an online educator since 2020, and my passion for teaching is deeply rooted in both my academic background and personal journey.
I hold a B.S. in Management and Leadership (2016) and went on to pursue a Master of Arts in Teaching with a focus on Special Education. During that time, I also made the choice to homeschool my children, which gave me firsthand insight into creating engaging and flexible learning experiences.
When it comes to teaching I have years of substitute teaching experience and online teaching (5 years). When pursuing my Masters of Teaching in Special Education I did intensive courses on reading intervention and ways to help struggling students and have been able to apply that when homeschooling my own kids and tutoring others.
My personal life has greatly influenced how I teach. My younger brother has Autism, and my oldest son has Down syndrome. These experiences have shaped my understanding of diverse learning needs and helped me create inclusive, supportive environments where every student can thrive.
I offer classes that reflect my passions and the interests I share with my kids—ranging from earth science and bird watching to interactive book clubs. I believe learning should be joyful, meaningful, and tailored to each child's strengths.
I can't wait to learn and explore with your learner!
