Pokémon Show and Share (Ages 5-8)
Class experience
Each week we will come together to show our Pokémon cards, video game catches, drawings and even stuffies. As the teacher, I will guide the discussions, ask questions, encourage friendly conversation as well as ensuring that everyone who wants to talk gets a chance. Each week I will explain the class rules (1. Try not to talk over each other, 2. Always use kind language 3. Don't feel pressured to speak) Next we will open up the floor for students to take turns showing a Pokemon card or...
Through our conversations students will develop socioemotional skills such as: • Self-control • Expressing feelings with words • Listening and paying attention • Pride in accomplishments • Positive self image • Asking for help when needed • Showing affection to familiar people • Aware of other peoples feelings • Making new friends • Connecting with people from various cultures and locations around the world over similar interests Presenting to the group will also give them an opportunity to practice effective public speaking skills.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
