This class is an introduction to the fascinating world of fungi through the lens of Pokémon. This course is also a great addition to a unit on plant life, as many learners are unaware of the difference between plants and fungi. We cover the difference between spores and seeds, the difference between producers (like plants) and decomposers (like fungi), how fungi do NOT do photosynthesis, etc. We also go into detail about good vs. toxic fungi, and discuss some weird and unique mushroom...

We do talk about plant reproduction very briefly in this class, and I compare it to sperm and egg reproduction in humans. I don't go into any details, but some students might feel discomfort or confusion if they haven't yet learned about how mammals create babies.
