Hi readers and Pokémon fans, In this club, we learn phonics from storybooks about Pokémon. Phonics is a clever way of knowing how letter sounds change. I learned how to read at the intersection of the "sounding out" and "whole-word" approaches. I used both of them throughout my career and, also, when learning Spanish and French. But most importantly I like reading with my kids. I found that reading Pokémon books is one of the most exciting ways to teach vowel sounds to children. Because...
No supplies are necessary, but we encourage students to have some Pokémon cards or toys to use for show and tell.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
