Pokémon does not draw upon one culture's mythology, rather it draws from many different world mythologies. As such, it is a wealth of information. We'll discuss the references to and compare/contrast with ancient mythology, such as Chinese, Japanese, Indian, and more! The deeper the knowledge of the Pokémon universe, the more meaningful this class will be, so come prepared with lots of understanding under your belt. A basic knowledge of world mythology would be helpful, but is not mandatory. Meaningful participation is encouraged, though no one will be put on the spot to answer or contribute.

Parental Guidance
I would never share anything in class that I would not share with my own child, but some students may find certain images scary. Parents of particularly sensitive children are encouraged to sit in.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
