Pokémon Halloween Writing (Themed)

Pokemon Halloween Writing is a one-time themed writing class for Pokemon fans!  Who doesn't want to create a mysterious, haunted, or otherwise unique seasonally inspired Pokemon? In this class, writers will use a PokeDex-inspired brainstorming sheet to generate ideas, layout out a quick character design, and craft a short PokeDex summary statement. Students will then write a 6-8 sentence descriptive/narrative paragraph explaining their Halloween themed Pokemon in great detail. Together we will use the entire writing process (brainstorming, writing, revision, and final writing) to complete our writing activity.

Outschoolers in my themed writing classes write a detailed 6-8 sentence paragraph. We focus on learning the paragraph formula of; topic, supporting and concluding sentences, writing strong descriptive sentences, and finally reviewing our work for corrections.  Spelling and grammatical errors are going to be made, and guess what, that is fine! My goal is to enable your student to enter into the writing process with excitement and fun!
