Nothing beats the excitement of completing a raid with friends. In this class every week Pokémon Go fans will get the chance to make friends, share tips and discuss strategies, and of course battle in one or more raids and catch Pokémon. Students can come every week, or drop in at any time. To join in, students will need to have a at least one Remote Raid Pass. Depending on the difficulty of the raid, some Pokémon may be harder to catch than others. This is a great opportunity for students to practice good sportsmanship and to encourage each other, as we don't always catch the Pokémon we defeat in a raid. 5 Star and Mega raids can take multiple attempts before a successful catch. But we will learn from our battles, enjoy the extra XP, Stardust, and friendships we make along the way. I will be driving to raids in my area to find spots with the best opportunities. Students are welcome to make requests for specific raids, and I will try to accommodate. Bring your best self, your best attitude, your best Pokémon and let's go!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hello families!
My name is Tawnie and I have been working with children for over 20 years, and homeschooling for over 5 years. I'm finishing my teaching credential at Sacramento State University in California, focusing on child development and education. I have a background teaching dance to children (and their parents too) and working in a variety of classroom settings. I was also a math tutor for a few years before I switched my major from mathematics to education.
I love nature and all things in it, from furry friends, creepy crawlies, to the ones that are larger than life. Growing up on a farm, I have a passion for all animals and the outdoors. When not outside, I like to spend my time creating by making jewelry, working on craft projects, dancing. I also enjoy playing video games.
I believe that children learn best when they are active, feel inspired to wonder, and safe to ask questions. My hope is to be able to offer students an opportunity to learn new things, build up their skills, and inspire them to want to learn more from the comfort of their home.
