Class Experience

Obsessed with Pokémon Go? Then you've come to the right place!
In this class we will meet to play Pokémon Go and discuss all things Pokémon...
Discussions will vary as they will be learner-directed but will include topics such as: What Pokémon have you caught this week? How many eggs have you hatched and what Pokémon did you receive? Have you taken over any gyms? Won any raids? Completed any challenges? We will also discuss Pokémon strengths and weaknesses and link these to tactics in battling the current Team Rocket Grunts. All learners will get the opportunity to interact with myself as well as the other learners in the classroom.
Learners can share Trainer IDs to battle and raid with the new friends they make in class.
Learners will need to bring a device to class with Pokémon Go downloaded onto it if they would like to play along.

Profile
Teacher expertise and credentials
I have been in education for 19 years and am currently the Assistant Head of Special Educational Needs in a secondary school (students aged 11-16) in the UK. I believe in an inclusive education for all students, no matter their ability or disability.
I teach English, Film and Media, and creativity is at the heart of all the classes I teach.
I was an art technician for three years in which I honed my artistic skills that I will use to offer art based classes.
I also ran my own small baking and cake decorating business for seven years; I even had celebrity clients! So, I hope to offer these classes to students in the near future.
In my spare time I love walking my pug and I am an avid reader of fantasy fiction. I also enjoy running; I have completed several half marathons and my goal is to complete a full marathon some day. I am a big kid at heart so look out for my Pokémon based classes!

I will leave you with one final thought: 'Education is the most powerful weapon we can use to change the world.' - Nelson Mandela.
