IMPORTANT: Due to low enrollments in the live classes, I encourage you to consider taking the “flex” version of this class. It contains the same content and can be taken on a flexible schedule. What’s more, I offer a “pay what you can” discount for all flex classes! Just sign up for the class and then send a message requesting your preferred discount. By the end of the class, students should be able to: ♦ Describe what ancient civilizations might have thought of dinosaur bones. ♦ Summarize what early paleontology was like in the 1800s. ♦ Explain how dinosaurs are classified. ♦ List the defining characteristics of a dinosaur. ♦ Distinguish between the main types of dinosaurs. ♦ Compare/contrast dinosaur Pokémon with their real life counterparts.
I am a certified science teacher in the state of Arizona, with more than a decade of experience teaching children. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Earth and Space Sciences, and as a college student I worked in a dinosaur museum, giving tours and prepping fossils. My classes are offered in a lecture format, so your child can participate to his or her comfort level.
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
Dinosaurs can be scary and violent at times. We do discuss dinosaurs attacking and killing other dinosaurs. Please keep this in mind when signing up for the course!
