In this one-time class we will make an adorable Christmas themed Pikachu paper craft. I will provide a printout, you provide the imagination! Our craft will have two ways it can be made so minimal supplies are needed to create an amazing, one-of-a-kind Pikachu to be proud of. This class takes the idea from my very popular ongoing Pokémon craft class but is themed specifically for Christmas. Kids of all art levels are welcome, as I will provide step-by-step instructions. Students will have the opportunity to share their masterpieces if they want and we will be chatting about our favorite Pokémon while we work! My class setting is a relaxed, fun, open space for students to be able to discuss and express their thoughts about what we are learning. I encourage student interaction with not only myself but with their fellow classmates. Everyone is expected to be respectful and listen to one another but also feel like they have the ability to share their own thoughts and opinions. I believe learning should be fun and try to provide a space for that to happen.
Learning Goals
Students will be able to practice their instruction following skills as well as their art and imagination skills. They will also have the ability to socialize with fellow Pokémon fans and have a great time!

Teacher expertise and credentials
Bachelor's Degree from University of California Riverside
Hi! I love to teach classes that are fun and promote discussion and creativity. In all of my classes I mix critical thinking with out of the box thinking so that the kids learn something brand new! I find the best way to do this is by using books, video games, trivia and other interactive components to keep them engaged and wanting to learn.
My passion for critical thought stems from my degree in Philosophy. The integration of pop culture in my classes is rooted in a lifetime of toy collecting, video game playing, and during my time as a staff writer for an online comic book review site. Over the past five years I have created community-based, pop-up craft classes for parents and children that integrate culture and thought, and I am excited about the opportunity to share these types of activities with my students!
Outside of teaching I enjoy spending time with my husband, son and three cats! I like online gaming and spending a lot of time crafting.
