Welcome to The Painting Panda Classroom! We'll be focusing on drawing Pokemon from the Galarian region during this class. I'm so excited to have you come join me in class as we learn to draw the newest Pokémon on the field. I have these quick draw classes for students who love pokemon, love to draw, and want to learn how to draw their favorite pokemon. See pokemon characters are created online through special software, which gives these characters their beautiful, cute, funny, and serious animated details. We can learn how to draw those by hand in what is called cartooning. We will focus on basic drawing skills to give us cute facial features, proper proportions, clean bold outlines, and smooth or correct textured coloring. We get to draw for 25 minutes and have Sharing of Pokemon Passion items for the last 10 minutes of class. Bring your cards, bring your plush animals, bring your favorite Pokémon lego characters, and items because it's going to get over the top Pokémon fun here! We will need our drawing supplies: pencils, erasers, paper or note pad, crayons, or colored pencils, fine tipped markers, etc. Come on time so that we can maximize our full class time. Students need to have access to a quiet space to draw, as well as a working web camera. Only students participating in class can be on screen. Parents or older siblings are allowed to help students enrolled in class as long as they keep their faces off screen as well. I am asking that for this class, no virtual backgrounds be used, as it makes it very difficult for students using backgrounds from sharing their art with the class, which then takes time away from our fun. We will be drawing the following pokemon from the Galarian region: Sobble, Grookey, Scorbunny, Yamper.
Learning Goals

Parental Guidance
Parents are welcome to help students during class, but need to be off screen during the class duration, as a safety policy Outschool asks teachers to enforce.
Parents for the SAFETY of our students (your learners) please allow them to have access to a working web camera when taking this class. I need to visually see or hear that there is a student taking my class or the account without one will be kicked out of class, and sent to Outschool support. For more info on this, please see the parent FAQ posted on the Outschool website.
If this is your learner's first Outschool class I recommend getting familiar with the Zoom interface and platform before the class starts. Outschool has a few articles and videos that can help. Unfortunately I am really unable to deal with any technical issues once class has begun and if you are experiencing issues, it's best to contact technical support at Outschool directly via the HELP tab on the website.

Teacher expertise and credentials
When I started The Painting Panda Classroom, I want to offer a variety of art classes, to many different ages of all children. My boys love LOVE love pokemon, and we've been learning to draw them, play the games, watch the shows, and follow Ash and his friends as they become pokemon trainers for a few years now. I'm so excited to offer a class where we can all learn to draw our favorite characters, and find out how to draw in different techniques as well.
As mentioned in my teacher profile I have 10 years of experience teaching early education pre-K classes, in both North Carolina and Utah. I have been able to use my degrees in Visual Arts with a focus on Art History from NCSU and my Associate in Arts from Wake Tech Community College, to teach kids and adults: various art classes here in North Carolina for the past 7 years. With my scouting connections I have had 5 years experience teaching science and history classes in North Carolina and Florida. Whether it was as a Co-Op teacher for my local home school groups, Art merit Badge Counselor for the local Boy Scout clinic, teaching STEAM classes for Cub Scouts, Nail art and Jewelry Crafting to teenage girls in my church, or summer art classes through my business, The Painting Panda, I love being able to share what I have learned!
