This is a fun, weekly discussion-based course that will include vivid picture presentations, and a printable resource page. Students will enjoy learning and combine their love of Pokémon with the study of zoology and ecology! Each week we will examine the characteristics of a different Pokémon and compare that Pokémon to a similar real life animal. We will compare the region of origin of various Pokémon to the natural habitats of real animals. This is a fun discussion based course that will include picture presentations and a weekly resource page. Students may join this ongoing course at any time and the content is not intended to be sequential. Depending on which week you join the content may include: Week of May 8 topic 1. Cramorant a flying-water type Pokémon from the Galar region vs Cormorant which has 40 varietal species of coastal aquatic predators Week of May 15 topic 2. Chinchou a water-electric type Pokémon first discovered in the Johto region vs the Angler Fish a Lophiiforme species that dwells deep in oceans and uses bioluminescence to attract prey. Week of May 22 topic 3. Slackoth a normal type Pokémon from the Hoenn region vs Sloths the slow-moving, arboreal animals found in Central and South America Week of May 29 topic 4. Pipipek a normal-flying type Pokémon from the Alola regions with 2 evolutions vs. Picidae Woodpeckers found world-wide except Oceana and the Arctic regions
Learning Goals
Students will learn about different animal habitats around the globe, and about specific animals that live there. We will make comparisons with Pokémon evolutions and Pokémon regions.

I am excited to welcome you to my online classroom! We can come together from around the world to explore academic and extra-curricular topics in a professional, yet fun and accessible setting. I bring hands on examples and vivid digital effects to my lessons. I have a Bachelors Degree in Education and years of experience teaching all subjects in traditional classes, special education classrooms, as a home schooling parent and in online education! Here’s some fun additional experience and background I bring to the classroom: I have more than 10 years professional experience as a top technician on Italian race bikes including Ducatis and MV Augustas. I have racing experience both on the track and in the ‘pit’. I have done make-up on SciFi movies in Hollywood. I crochet a wide variety of useful and whimsical items, and I'm a gardener and backyard chicken farmer. I look forward to sharing these skills and experience with your learner.
