US Grade 3 - 6
⚠️ Needed to participate: Nintendo Online Membership, Stable Internet Connection, a Nintendo Switch, the game Pokemon Scarlet OR the game Pokemon Violet. During this class, students will be able to visit each other to play together, battle, socialize, share tips, tricks, and ideas, and trade items while having fun. We will take turns going to each others worlds throughout the weeks and we will battle and trade items. Before class starts, the students should make sure they have everything that they need to participate in the class (i.e. Nintendo Online membership, the game, etc.). The students also have to have reached their first Pokemon Center to be able to travel to another person's world. To play multiplayer, the students may connect through the Pokemon Center or through the Poke Portal. To access the Poke Portal, you must click the X button, on your Nintendo Switch. After that, you will select Poke Portal and then you must click the L button on your Nintendo Switch to access the Online Mode. ⚠️Note: Please test out connecting to the Online Mode before class starts. Sometimes, it may have you enter your Nintendo Switch password or other information to connect to the online mode. You may contact me with any questions or concerns you may have. I'd be happy to help! During class, we will talk about Pokemon. We may talk about different Pokemon topics like how to progress in the game, our favorite Pokemon, etc. The main goal of the class is for students to socialize, make friends, and have fun while playing and learning how to play Pokemon. ⚠️ Note: In the game, we can only have 4 students in a world so, if we have more than 4 students in a class, we will use breakout groups and break into 2 groups to play the game. Students can choose which group they want to join. Normally, the groups are decided by what activity each student wants to do. For example, if some of the students want to do Tera Raid Battles then they can be in a group together. I will go between the groups often to make sure that things are running smoothly. I do ask that there's no fighting or arguing while in your group. Instead, use this as an opportunity to work together and decide what you want to do as a team. ⚠️ While we're in our breakout groups, if the students need me they can send me an alert. When you're in the breakout rooms, there should be a question mark in the left hand corner that says "Ask for Help". Once you click it, you can select "Invite Host". This will let me know that you need me and I will return ASAP. The students may be muted during class if there is a lot of background noise or if the students are talking when other students or I am talking. So, please make sure that everyone knows how to mute and unmute themselves on Zoom. Thanks! Students are welcome to share photos and comments in the online classroom throughout the weeks to talk about what's new on their islands, their interests, and what they are excited for in the game. The students are also welcome to share their friendship codes with each other and with me, if they want to. ⚠️ Note: If I don't have a day or time that works for you, please reach out and I'll see what I can do. Thanks!
