Hello & welcome to this fun-filled Pokémon reading and activity course. Oh, the HOLIDAY EDITION, of course! We are surely going to have a jolly ol' time reading some awesome holiday stories, which have been written by yours truly! I LOVE classes, which are super engaging, fun, and authentic. Thus, you can expect just that from this course! I have no doubt that your learner will have a giant smile across their face throughout the course! Also, did someone say games and activities? Well, you heard that right! This class will also be filled with fun activities, as well. So, hop on to Pikachu's sled because we are going on a holiday adventure! Sneak Peek of our Weekly Reading Themes: Week of November 22nd: Pikachu Goes to the North Pole! Week of November 29th: Pikachu's Gift of Giving! Week of December 6th: Is It Decemberrrrr, Eevee? Brrrr, it's cold! Week of December 13th: Pokémon Friends in New York City! Week of December 20th: Please send in any requests you have, and I would be absolutely delighted to write a story about an idea your learner has! 'Tis the season to be creative!

Hello everyone! My name is Helena! :)
First of all, a huge thank you to ALL of my amazing learners and families. You are all incredible, and I am so grateful for your kindness, enthusiasm and love for learning. It has been a true pleasure learning and working with you all. Virtual hugs!
I am a certified elementary and high school teacher whom absolutely loves teaching! I have an Honour's Specialization in History, French Language and Literature, and a degree in Education. I have extensively studied language acquisition and metacognition, and feel very privileged to bring this knowledge to each of my classes. My heart is learning and teaching! I have had the privilege to teach all grade levels, and have taught in both Canada and London, United Kingdom. Not only do I teach in the classroom (virtual, nowadays!) but I also teach in the dojo. Karate has been a humongous part of my life for 21 years, and it brings me so much joy to share my love for martial arts with learners from around the world!
I am fluent in English, French and Greek! From a young age, I have absolutely adored studying languages. I really excelled in environments, which were authentic in nature and allowed for me to learn in a way that was hands-on and fun. As a result, I always ensure that my classes are super engaging and an experience that will aid in confidence building!
I believe that education and learning must go far beyond the four walls of the classroom. It is a time in which all students should have the opportunity to recognize just how incredible they are in an exciting, and nurturing environment. In doing so, I hope to help students become leaders and grow their interpersonal and intrapersonal skills! As Plato said, there is a genius within every single one of us, and I am absolutely dedicated to helping others reach their full potential!
In my personal time, I love to read, write, travel, garden, listen to music (and have a dance party at the same time) and spend time with my dear family!
