Does your child love Pokemon but struggle with math? This class will incorporate their favorite characters into a math lesson focused on comparing numbers. We will use the hit points and damage values of different Pokemon throughout class. I will show students how to compare two numbers using the terms greater than, less than, and equal. This class is appropriate for students at the end of kindergarten or beginning of first grade. They should already know how to count and identify numbers to 100.
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to compare two numbers using the terms greater than, less than, and equal.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am excited to share my love of learning with Outschool students! I love teaching about science, Pokemon, math, and sight words!
I have a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Elementary Education and was a full-time classroom teacher for 11 years. I taught grades K-3, but first grade was my favorite! I have also been an online ESL teacher and a substitute teacher. This year I am excited to start a new teaching adventure: homeschool!
I live in Illinois with my husband and two boys. We love playing outside, watching movies, and going to Disneyworld! I also love cooking, baking, reading, and drawing.
I cannot wait to meet new students on Outschool! My goal is to have fun while learning, and I hope I can do that for each child that attends my classes.
