Class Experience

US Grade Preschool - Kindergarten
This one time 30 minute class will include 3 parts. In the first part we will play a game where there are poke balls and to see which pokemon are inside the poke balls we have to answer addition and subtraction problems! The format of this part will be a presentation. In the second part of this class, we will get active! Students will have the opportunity to shake out their sillies as they practice math skills. We will figure out how many of each activity to do and then count together. For example, 5-1 jumping jacks. And then we will do 4 jumping jacks together while counting them out loud. The format of this part will be us talking together and doing the activities together. The third part of this class will be another pokemon game. We will have to answer addition and subtraction problems in order to unlock and then evolve a pokemon.

This class is a great way to practice counting, adding and subtracting. Students should already be familiar with numbers 1-10.

Bachelor's Degree from The Ohio State University
Hi! I am excited to offer classes in math and science. I have two Bachelor of Science degrees from The Ohio State University. My first degree is in Environmental Science and my second degree is in Chemical Engineering. I have three kiddos between the ages of 3 and 10. We love Pokémon and traveling. A fun fact about me is I am a certified scuba diver!

My goals are to engage students and to facilitate interest in math and science. I will use experiments and examples to help students understand concepts, rather than just memorizing terms and formulas.
