This weekly Pokemon socializing club is the ultimate outlet for all the Pokemon and gaming fanatics out there! We will focus on one Pokémon monster each week with facts and trivia. We will have lively discussion about all things Pokémon.
Class experience
Where are all my Pokémon Trainers? My love of all things Pokémon began at age 6 and is still going strong 20 years later! Grab all of your Pokémon swag and join the Pokémon fan frenzy! This is a weekly ongoing social club, so you are free to drop in and out as your schedule allows! Each class will be a mix of facts and trivia about a single Pokemon monster from the original 151 Pokémon. We will have lively discussion about Pokémon, cards, and gaming in general, along with a Google slideshow....
The goal of the class is to form social relationships around our common love of Pokémon as we build confidence and public speaking skills in a fun, safe forum.
I have a degree in Communications from Mississippi State University where I served as on-air talent at the campus TV station and was a member of an improv comedy troupe. I was also on an elite speech and debate team throughout high school and performed amateur stand-up comedy in New York City after college. I picked up my first Pokémon at the age of 6, and 20 years later I still haven't put it down! :)
No supplies are required, but students are welcome to bring their Pokémon swag to class.
During class, there will be a short scavenger hunt of 1-2 items, depending on time, where I will call out an item related to class and the kids will have 1 minute to find the item around the house and bring it back to share with our Pokéfriends. The items will be of a general nature and the hunt is just for fun, so no worries if they can't find an item. The hunt will only last for a few minutes of each class.
