In this class students will analyze and write their own poetry while incorporating a better understanding of how to use literary devices such as similes in their poems.

I have worked with elementary students for the past 3 years on developing literacy skills and helping students use reading and writing as a way to express themselves. I am a recent graduate from Whittier College with a major in Child Development and a minor in Education.
You can download the poems prior to class, but I will also screenshare the poems for those who do not have access to a printer. Pencil Lined paper Markers and/or crayons
