Description
Class Experience
This one-time class focuses on the poetry form called the "diamante." Writing diamante poems serves as a great introduction to writing poetry as these can be easily written in one sitting. First, students will hear and see a diamante poem. Then, the teacher will unveil the form explaining the types of words used in each line. Students will need to have some understanding of nouns, verbs, adjectives, synonyms, and antonyms. The students will watch an interactive slide show as the teacher...
Students will learn the diamante form of poetry and create their own poems.
Students should bring a writer's notebook and pencil or pen to class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
30 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
