Description

Class Experience

In this one-time class, students will practice writing a Couplet poem. We will spin the wheel to choose our topics! Students will learn the Couple format, review rhyme, and be given examples of Couplets to get our minds flowing. This lesson will be taught using lecture slides and interactive demonstration. As a class, we will brainstorm words that rhyme which will allow us to incorporate a variety of verbs, adjectives, nouns, etc. into our poems. Finally, we will practice writing our very own...

This class is taught in English.

Students will practice identifying words that rhyme resulting in an increased knowledge of semantics. Students will use their artistic abilities to draw a picture, and practice their social/reading skills by presenting with the class. By the end of class, students will be able to identify the foundational elements of how to write a Couplet poem.
