Class Experience

Students will have a blast while expanding their artistic and science skills.
Students will need the following for term 1- Week 1- Acrylic paints in colors WHITE, BLUE, GREY, BLACK Canvas or paper Acrylic brush/es Paper plate White paint pan Rocks Sand Water Blue food coloring Plastic bottle Large pan or tray. Week 2- watercolors/brush Watercolor paper Cup of water (for dipping brush) *White acrylic paint (optional) *Pointed acrylic brush (optional) playdough or clay Week 3- Air dry clay (colored or non colored) Glass bowl (make sure you have enough clay to cover 2/3 the sides and bottom of bowl) Small bowl of water (if clay is a harder texture) paper plate scissors magazines Week 4- : Sketch pad/paper Colored pencils Item to sketch Paper roll, construction paper, or poster-boards Markers, crayons, colored pencils Rulers Pencils Term 2- Week 1- Acrylic paint BLACK, WHITE, PURPLE, BLUE, GREEN Canvas Acrylic pointed brush Circular bowls (bigger/smaller) Paper towel Moist towelettes for cleaning hands White printer paper, tracing paper, or parchment paper Pencil Clear tape Scissors White paper Sibling pairs (at least 15) Unrelated pairs of people (at least 15) Optional: Magnifying glass; Lab notebook Week 2- Watercolors Watercolor paper Cup of water Paper towels Pencil salt water commercial saline solution black construction paper trash bag construction paper markers Week 3- Sketch pad/paper Colored pencils Item to sketch 1 cup half-and-half per student 2 Tbs. sugar 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract 3 cups ice 1/3 cup rock salt or kosher salt sandwich size zipper bag 1 gallon size zipper bag per 2 students plastic spoons student lab sheet Week 4- various colors of modeling clay Any tools you think will help you get creative giant cardboard box (or however big you'd like your marble run to be!) different sized craft sticks, hot glue, marbles or small ball
4 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
