In this pod, students will game with socialize with other Roblox gamers who love video games and learn the programming features of ScratchJr. This summer camp pod is divided into 2 sections for ease of payment - taking both sections will result in a complete semester's course. #builder

Hello all! We cannot wait to meet you. We will be playing Roblox and Coding in Scratch Jr. Roblox Learners will have fun playing Roblox, socializing, and learning together. We will play a new game each week! Learners will post their top 3 Roblox games to the classroom. Our random generator will choose the games of the day. We will play games on a private server. *Guardians must provide permission for their enrolled students to share their Roblox player information with the teacher. Coding with ScratchJr Students will learn to code on an app with Scratch Jr. The app is generally compatible with iPad, Android, and Chromebooks. Please confirm your device’s compatibility. The student may use another device for Zoom. Students will learn how to code to move and animate a variety of characters and create their own game environments. By using different ways to code gameplay, they can review their own work by playing their own creations. * Students must also have a Scratch Jr. account and download the app Please note: this class is part of the Outschool Pods program and is intended to build learner community while playing Roblox and learning to code. Supply List
Students will need a second mobile device to play Roblox on. If they are playing on a computer they can Zoom and play Roblox on the same device. Students will need to download the app and create a Scratch Jr. account. https://scratchjr.org/

Teacher Janelle teaches fashion design, art, math, business, and language arts. She works in the fashion industry and has taught in-person and online for over 10 years. She teaches students how to use their creativity while developing technical skills.
