Class Experience
*Please carefully read our schedule information* Let’s explore the world together as we learn kindergarten skills in a hands-on, meaningful way. In this POD class, students work with two teachers (Ms. Rachel and Ms. Amy) across many curricular areas. ELA Ms. Rachel teaches English Language Arts (ELA) using Science of...
Students will explore with and master kindergarten-level concepts in an engaging environment. They will also gain social skills as they work cooperatively with classmates.
Ms. Rachel has been an educator for the last 15 years and started teaching on the Outschool platform in January of 2021. She spent five years teaching special education as a paraprofessional in the public school system. In that role, she worked with kindergarten through third-grade students, helping them find their best ways to learn in all subject areas. After leaving the public school system, she educated her children at home, with her last daughter graduating in 2022. She loves being an educator! She believes every child is unique and should be encouraged to learn in the best way for them. Every child deserves respect, understanding, and patience. She strives to make learning fun and engaging for her students as she helps to create a solid educational foundation. Ms. Amy decided to be a teacher in first grade and has never wavered in her conviction. She loves teaching! She has taught students from preschool age to middle school in a variety of settings. She has taught in public school, a classical homeschool hybrid school, and on Outschool for over 2 years. She currently hybrid homeschools her two children. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a Master’s degree in Library Media Science, and became a National Board Certified teacher as an Early Childhood Generalist in 2007. She teaches Montessori-inspired, hands-on math classes on Outschool. She believes in excellence as a teacher and for her learners and wants to learn new things every day. She believes in teaching children how to learn so they can master concepts and apply them in the real world. Ms. Amy strives to bring a spark to learning math and science and desires for her students to delight in learning and building a strong educational foundation.
