Students will be confident in all 4th grade standards and ready to move forward to the next level.
Students will need the following supplies each day: - The ability to print worksheets - Good internet connection - Crayons - Paper - Pencils Term 1 materials are as follows: August- - The BFG by Roald Dahl (August) Science materials- Animal adaptations-Materials: Shortening / Lard (Room Temperature Plastic Baggies Strong, Thick, Waterproof Tape Large Bucket with Water Ice Erosion-Materials: sandpaper, a piece of chalk, a piece of limestone and a piece of concrete/rock. States of matter-Materials: A clear container with a lid Water. Oil (i.e. vegetable, baby, etc.) Food Coloring Alka-Seltzer Tablet or alternative including: Mixture of baking soda and citric acid. Baking Soda and Vinegar. Table Salt. Any fun additives for the inside of your lamp! (sparkles/beads/ect) SS Materials- cans, glass jars, or boxes colored paper, tape or glue paper for poster and colors if needed Math Materials- Set of 6 dice Dominos Term 2 - - Matilda by Roald Dahl (September) posterboard or cardboard/ markers or paints lamp,tennis ball or a white foam ball, Dark gray color paper, Glue, globe OPTIONAL PROJECT: Students may choose to just watch the teacher. IF they choose to participate these are needed: 4xAA battery holder Piezoelectric buzzer Jumbo LEDs (25 total — 5 each in red, green, white, yellow, and blue) White insulating dough (3.5 oz) Red, blue, and green conductive dough (3.5 oz each) AA batteries (4, not included in the kit). Future Terms- - Charlie and the Chocolate Factory by Roald Dahl (October) - Charlie and the Great Glass Elevator by Roald Dahl (November) All other supplies will be listed in the classroom in a timely manner and will be easy to find and practical.
