Class Experience

Podcasting is a growing media platform that is still experiencing new users despite only using audio.  In this class students will learn how to create a quality product from its inception through brainstorming, to conducting remote interviews, to editing, to listing it online for download and people to consume.  The class will be structured in that there will be videos for students to view at the beginning of the week followed by assignments and discussions.  The end goal will be for students...

Week 1: What is a podcast? 
*  What will be successful
*  Brainstorming
*  Storyboarding the podcast and writing/ outlining the script
Week 2: 
* Technology you need to be successful (more than just a microphone) (using a phone or computer), 
* How to create and record your podcast using a computer or phone
* Software(s) you need to record your podcast 
* How to identify sound effects you might want to use
Week 3: 
* Recording your podcast if you have not already
* Fixing Sound Issues 
* Adding sounds  
* Editing a final product
Week 4: 
* Writing a good summary for the episode
* Publishing and listing your podcast with rss feeds.  
* Successfully upload your podcast and turn in for review on Outschool.

I am a technology teacher that has been teaching students how to create media and graphic design for 20 years.
