Class Experience

US Grade 3 - 6
In this four week flex course we will explore the ice dwarf planet Pluto. We will cover not only its bizarre geology, but also its historic and scientific importance in understanding our solar system.

We will tackle questions such as:
- What is a planet?
- What are the similarities and differences between Earth and Pluto?
- What can Pluto’s surface tell us about comet populations and the Kuiper Belt?
- What is Pluto’s “giant heart” made of?
- How did NASA’s New Horizons Mission challenge preconceived ideas about dwarf planets?

Classes are designed to encourage student engagement and follow their curiosity.

This is an asynchronous flex course. There are no live meetings. It is perfect for students who do not like to be on camera or live across different time zones.

There is no textbook for this class. All necessary learning materials will be provided in the classroom.
