US Grade 9 - 12
Intermediate Level
Designed for the high school learner who is ready to bring their Spanish knowledge to life, this club elevates communication skills. Learners are exposed to Hispanic life through appropriate content about art, fashion, advertisements, and more. If you're tired of conjugating verbs, memorizing vocabulary lists, and practicing unrealistic conversations, then this class is made for you! Each club meeting begins with learning vocabulary and phrases through motions, games, and fun repetition. Then, the learners are presented with a song, short film, cooking vlog, or other appropriate media content. The examples are limitless since this approach to learning Spanish uses real-world resources that engage the mind and leave the student in anticipation of the next Spanish club meeting. Each meeting concludes with Spanish conversations that are meaningful and real! THIS CLUB IS DESIGNED TO: 🙌 Equip learners with the skills to recognize and build Spanish vocabulary 🔥Ignite student curiosity and desire to learn more about the Hispanic world 💪 Inspire students to be fearless in tackling a new language 🧑🏫Connect with teacher and peers while having fun communicating in Spanish 😎 What makes this club special? This refreshing approach to learning a language, naturally instills curiosity for others and improves Spanish comprehension. If you’ve taken a formal Spanish 1 course or just learned some Spanish through years of playing Duolingo or other language apps, this type of learning could be the missing aspect of piecing together your prior knowledge so you can actually communicate in the Spanish language. Club meetings are best for students who have completed High School Spanish 1 or have an equivalent to an A2 level. Students are welcome to join every week to best expand language skills, or to just dabble in the language and have fun. Please see the schedule for each weekly theme.
