Description

Class Experience

We will start class by labeling the parts of the coordinate plane. Students will then learn about x and y values and how to use them to plot points on the coordinate plane. We will graph points as a class on each of the quadrants of the coordinate plane. Students will be encouraged to participate during this part of class. Once a few examples are completed students will be asked to identify the coordinates of a certain point to demonstrate comprehension of the lesson. Students will end class...

Students will learn to plot points on the coordinate plane.

This is a lesson that I have taught both in a public school with a class of 30 students and in private tutoring setting, and I have always been able to identify the misconceptions regarding this lesson. This helps me adjust the lesson to individual needs.

Please have students come to class prepared with a notebook and pencil for notes.

Students will be assessed in the form of questioning throughout the lesson. Students will also demonstrate comprehension through modeling the steps learned.
