In PlayKids Folktales, early reading skills appropriate for K through 2nd-grade levels are encouraged and enhanced through choral and echo reading as well as readers theater. Stories are then acted out incorporating movement, instruments, and simple props and costumes. Sessions will include: movement warm-ups cued to music; theater games; acting-out pantomimes (without words); skits (with words); versions of a folk or fairy tale to be read and/or performed. Approximately 6 feet of open space will be needed for free movement in activities. Recommended dress is loose clothing and sneakers.
