Welcome to Playing the Piano - First Steps! This introductory course explores the basics of the keyboard. Students will recognize and identify notes and patterns on the keyboard, practice using piano finger numbers on and off the keyboard and take turns playing some simple melodies and songs. Students will learn finger numbers, play simple melodies using piano finger numbers, learn how to count basic rhythms (quarter notes, half notes and whole notes) and identify loud and soft sounds.
I have been teaching piano for over 13 years. I have a Master's Degree in Music Education and a Bachelor's Degree of Art in Music. I am a touring musician and am currently recording my second solo album.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
