In this class students who have finished Playful Piano Part B will CONTINUE even further in their piano journey in a fun and playful way that will include games, songs and movement to reinforce the concepts learned! They will receive instruction from an expert teacher who is joyful, kind and encouraging. ***In order to register, students must have finished Playful Piano Journey Part B, (or Wunderkeys Primer 1 or My First Piano Adventure Book B) as a pre-requisite or have permission from the instructor as we will be building on previous knowledge and Grand Staff note reading skills. Students will continue to learn: * Correct position at the piano and posture * Keyboard Geography: how to find and recognize the keys on the piano * Finger numbers and how they relate to playing on the piano * Dynamics and articulation * Many more songs to play on the piano both by rote and by reading and by improvising * Patterns and melody and harmonizing *MORE Note reading on the music staff Students will meet each week for 30 minutes and each lesson will include time spent at the piano learning and playing as well as some movement and singing activities to reinforce concepts and keep learners engaged. A small homework/practice assignment will be given each week at the end of class. Students should have a piano or a minimum 61 key keyboard to learn and practice on and small amount of daily practice is recommended for progression. You will need to order Wunderkeys Primer Two book off of Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/WunderKeys-Primer-Piano-Book-Two/dp/1981933417 Class breakdown: Class 1 Review Primer 1 Book and middle C position notes, review of rhythms learned so far Class 2 Reading line to line skips on the treble staff, playing skips with fingers and thumb positioning Class 3 Piano pieces in new positions on the piano Class 4 Using the damper pedal and hand shifts within a piece (Unit 3) Class 5 New Italian (music) terms: ritardando, accent, tempo Class 6 Review of line to line skips and moving hand positions in a piece Class 7 Skips for the LH and Bass Clef (unit 5) Class 8 Space to space skips on the music staff (unit 6) Class 9 Reviewing bass clef notes and learning to balance the sound between 2 hands. Class 10 Hands together playing and harmonizing. Class 11 Review of concepts learned so far, improvising fun. Class 12 Class mini-recital Each class may progress slower or fast than the syllabus outline depending upon the learners enrolled and the practice time they spend out of class each week.

It's my desire to nurture confidence, creativity and community through innovative piano lessons and music classes.
My focus is on growing happy, creative, well-educated musicians and making the experience of learning joyful, magical and easy as possible!
I want learners to feel important and find new avenues with which to express themselves while experiencing the magic of making music with others.
My Background: From the moment I taught my first Early Childhood Music Class in 1998, I knew teaching was my calling and I have never looked back. In 2001, I started my own music studio and have been teaching preschool music classes, group piano lessons, private piano lessons and even ukulele classes!
My Education: I have a Bachelor of Arts in Music and am a Music for Young Children Certified Teacher as well as an Advanced Piano Specialist with the Royal Conservatory of Music. I am also a Pro Certified Online Teacher with Teach Music Online.
When I'm not teaching you'll find me baking, running with my dogs, spending time with my family or cooking up more creative and fun ideas for teaching.
