Class Experience

Manipulating play dough can help children build the fine motor skills necessary to be successful in school. Students will play with playdoh during this hands-on course to build muscles that will help them become stronger writers. Playdough may be rolled, squished, or squeezed. We will incorporate other early learning skills including counting and letter formation. As the teacher, I will assess where students are and choose activities that meet their needs. I will also model each task so students can be successful. Each week, we will build a different Play-Doh animal, creature, or scene such as a dog, a house, or a city together. After completing our structured build, students will have a chance to add to their scene or build a creation of their own imagination!

1. The class will start with a directed build where students practice following directions to build a creation such as an octopus. The teacher will model playdough techniques to build fine motor skills. Students will help with problem-solving, generating ideas, and building social skills.
2. After completing our build together, students will have time to add to the themed creation or create their own design.
3. At the end of class, all students will have a chance to share their creations.

Learners of all abilities and backgrounds are welcome. Miss Raz strives to create a safe and supportive space for all learners. If your learner needs any accommodations, please inform Miss Raz. We will work together to create a positive learning environment for your scholar.
